Welcome! To the Eat, Move, Track, Work notebook.
Do you ever jot down what you eat during the day, or what exercise you accomplished in the margins of your notebook? I do, and I’m thinking if I do, someone else out there does it too.
My name is Jen Odd and I’ve been tracking my food and exercise while I work for decades.
A bit about me - I am married and have a son and daughter approaching their teens. I work full time, where I spend many hours sitting in front of my laptop. I exercise early in the morning or during the lunch hour and eat my breakfast and lunch while I work. That’s when I found myself jotting down my calories consumed and burned in the margins of my notebook. Over the years, I’ve realized how much this simple, but consistent daily task has helped me stay aware and accountable for my eating and moving. This habit has helped me maintain the same size and weight since high school (see photos below). I know many people have tried apps and online trackers….however, the simple act of writing this information down by hand, helps you stay mindful and can be referenced throughout the day as you use the notebook to take notes or make to do lists while you work.
